In each day of camp students will have group instruction time, various games, individual practice time using a keyboard and tablets, and incentivized prizes. Students will also learn about music history and solfege. The week will end with a special performance time to share what has been learned. This is the perfect introduction to piano learning, in a setting filled with more fun than the traditional classroom.

Keyboard

Intro to Music Makers: At the Keyboard

Two 4-Week Options from July 7-31, 2025:

Mondays in July, 4-5pm

Thursdays in July, 2-3pm

Parents/Caregivers attend last 15 min. of each class

Ages: 7–8

Cost: $125, includes bound workbook & CD/Digital Download

In this active class we combine dancing, echoing rhythmic and tonal patterns, instrument playing (wooden sticks & drums), writing pages and time at the keyboard. During the keyboard time students learn beginning hand placement and three songs by the end of this short introduction to the Music Makers Series of Musikgarten Keyboard Classes. This is an aural approach to keyboard learning, and unlike the traditional methods. Music Makers: Keyboard Year 1 will begin in September 2025, and this is a great introduction to what these semester-long classes are like.

Guitar

Intro to Guitar Class

An 8-week class:

June 10th – July 29th, Tuesdays 7:00-8:00pm

Ages: 12 and up

Cost: $250

Required Materials: Acoustic Guitar, Guitar Picks, Tuner, Music Stand for at home practice

Intro to Guitar Class is open to students who have no experience playing the guitar. The focus of the class is on developing technique, learning how to play notes and chords, as well as becoming familiar with musical notation. These fundamental skills will equip each student to be able to play simple melodies and strum chords to basic songs individually, as well as in a group. Based on availability, beginning students will have the option of continuing private lessons with the guitar instructor in the fall.

Expectations: Students are required to practice daily at home. Weekly assignments will be given and students must come properly prepared for each class. This is a fast paced course, so work at home is essential in order to stay on track with the class. Students must bring their guitar, picks, tuner and any additional materials provided by the instructor to every class.
