Spring Semester includes 15 Classes from January 29, 2024 – May 17, 2024 (No class the week of March 25)

Babies 2:  Babies to 15 months old (Register HERE)

• Family bonding time, parent/care-giver attends throughout the 30-minute class with child
• Singing, dancing, finger and body plays, exposure to musical echoes and simple rhythm instruments
• Materials:  cloth bag with rhythm sticks, scarf and shaker, parent book and CD/digital download
• Tuition cost:  $189 per semester, $179 if you own the cloth bag from previous class, or $146.25 if sibling participated and still own materials

Cycle of Seasons – Sun Catchers:  Preschool ages 3-1/2 to 5 years (Register HERE)

• Family music class in which parent/care-giver attends throughout the 40-minute class with child
• Singing, dancing, finger plays, rhythm and tonal echoes, listening time, playing instruments, development of speech through story-telling, creative input, and recorded movement activities
• Home Materials:  animal cards in cloth pouch, parent book and two CD/digital downloads
• Tuition cost:  $221.50 per semester, or $176.25 if sibling participated and still own materials

Music Makers at Home  – Cattail Marsh & Meadow:  Ages 4-1/2 to 6 years (Register HERE)

• Second semester of sequential music-making (pre-requisite:  My Home Place & Woodlands from fall semester)
• Child comes independently, and parent/siblings join the last 15 minutes for class activity
• Themed lessons including singing, dancing, listening, building on rhythmic and tonal echoes through notation cards, playing simple instruments, learning about orchestral instruments, acting out stories and building class ensembles
• Home Materials:  two folder-posters with game pieces, notation cards, and CD/digital downloads
• Tuition cost:  $252.50 per semester or $63.25 per month by auto-deduct Feb 1 – May 1 (4 months)  *Reduced price for sibling packets if older sibling previously participated and still own materials

Music Makers Around the World – Amerindians:  Ages 5-1/2 to 7 years (Register HERE)

• Pre-piano course in which child comes independently, and parent/siblings join the last 15 minutes for class activity
• Themed lessons including singing, dancing, learning about composers, acting out stories, careful listening to musical works, utilizing learned rhythmic and tonal patterns to read notation cards, sing solfege, find patterns and track while singing new song pages
• Home materials:  Folder-poster with melodic and rhythmic notation, song pages, and CD/digital downloads
• Tuition cost:  $255.00 per semester or $63.75 per month by auto-deduct Feb 1-May 1 (4 months) *Reduced price for sibling packets if older sibling previously participated and still own materials

Music Makers at the Keyboard Year 1 (Red Bk) – Ages 6 to 8 (Register HERE)

• Using an aural approach, this is the first of a 3-year series of keyboard classes.  Students continue to sing, dance, work together in ensembles, and play card-notation games.  We begin learning chord-playing and simple melodies from pattern echoes, and by the end are able to transpose to various keys, improvise and read “mystery songs.”
• Home materials:  red lesson book, notation cards, song pages, practice and listening CD/digital downloads, Amerindians CD/digital downloads

Music Makers at the Keyboard Year 2 (Blue Bk 4) – Ages 6-1/2  to 8 (Register HERE)

• Using an aural approach, this is the second semester in year two of a 3-year series of keyboard classes (pre-requisite:  Music Makers at the Keyboard 2 – Purple Bk 3 – from fall semester).  Students continue to sing, dance, drum, work together in ensembles, and read/play card-notation games. Fun challenges await!  New songs to play by ear, including more complex parts for the left hand. Technique exercises will eventually lead to more fluid playing. There are also new songs to learn to read and play, plus some old favorites reappear. 
• Home materials:  blue lesson book, notation cards,  practice and listening CD/digital downloads

My Musical World: Babies to 13 months 

My Musical World was created to be a listening pleasure for the whole family with a wide variety of repertoire and sounds from around the world. This set seeks of offer parents the gift of simplicity with selected activities to enhance development through active participation in music-making.

• Wednesdays 5:45-6:15 pm – CANCELED
• $104 for 8-week session, includes materials ($90 for session if already own cloth bag & instruments, $70 if own recording as well)

Nimble & Quick: Family Music Class for Babies to age 5

Children have an inborn love for music! They are born with the ability to sing, to move rhythmically, and to express themselves musically.  Likewise, children have an inborn love for the rhythm and rhymes captured in nursery rhymes. This collection captures the best of both worlds, combining the joy of music making with the fascination for playing with the sounds of our language.

Music Makers at the Keyboard Year 2 (Purple Book) – Ages 7 to 8 (Register HERE)

• Using an aural approach, this is the second year of a 3-year series of keyboard classes.  Students continue to sing, dance, work together in ensembles, and play card-notation games, however embarking on more challenges with melodies extending beyond the 5-finger position, and culminating with scale melodies.  Playing by ear continues, but reading activities are more plentiful to accomodate the needs of the children, through sight-reading cards and notation games.  Continued work in major and minor tonalities, as well as duple and triple meters.
